A third nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic may appear in Blagutovitse in 2035 - the head of CEZ

Campus Blagutovitse may be the future site of the third Czech nuclear power plant, wrote on Monday the newspaper "Mlada Fronta Dnes".

In socialist times, it was planned that each region of Czechoslovakia will eventually own a nuclear plant. Blagutovitse town in northern Moravia, near Ostrava was listed in 1986, among other suitable sites for nuclear power plants. But after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia the atomic plans were shelved in the long box.

With the revival of the Czech nuclear power, company CEZ has prompted to raise the documentation on the site in Moravia. CEO Martin Roman, speaking at a press conference in Ostrava, called the "most realistic" date of inauguration of the NPP "Blagutovitse" as 2035.

The Czech government continues to count at Moravian station. But the question of nuclear power plant "Blagutovitse" is not on the agenda. According to the CEZ, the real debate on the establishment of the station did not begin until 2020.

By the original plan approved by the socialist government of Czechoslovakia, two units with VVER-1000 supposed to be built in Blagutovitse. Other well-known Czech plans, which could appear plant, located in Tetovo, near Pardubice and Mnishek (central Bohemia).

Currently, the Czech Republic operates two nuclear power stations. NPP "Dukovany" consists of four units with VVER-440, a nuclear power plant Temelin has two blocks with the VVER-1000. In a country passes a tender to select technologies for building blocks ##3-4 of NPP Temelin.
