Third HLMC-2008 conference will be held in Obninsk

The year 2008 is the 50th anniversary of commissioning the world's first nuclear reactor with lead-bismuth coolant (Facility 27/VT, IPPE, Obninsk). Now many countries are studying its technology for the civilian application.

In 1998 the 1st Conference on Heavy Liquid-Metal Coolants in Nuclear Technologies (HLMC-98) was held in Obninsk. In 2003 the 2nd Conference on Heavy Liquid-Metal Coolants in Nuclear Technologies (HLMC-2003) was also held in Obninsk within the frameworks of the Forum on Fast Neutron Reactors devoted to the 100th anniversary of Academician A.I. Leypunsky.

In 2008 will be held in Obninsk the 3rd Conference HLMC-2008 and to time it to the 50th anniversary of commissioning the world's first nuclear reactor with heavy liquid-metal coolant.
