Idea of NPP construction in Perm region is gaining ground

The delegation of Perm region visited Tihange-2 NPP near Huy in Belgium with the aim to get an insight into Belgian experience of NPP construction and maintenance. The guests concerned the issues of NPP safety and its influence on environment. However, they have been heard no complaints from administration and local population. The first reactor was built 30 years ago.

Now Huy has 20 thousand people and budget of EUR 44 million. The biggest part of municipality income is formed due to activity of Tihange-2 NPP, one of the largest European power plants.

After visit of Tihange-2 NPP Nickolay Ostanin, head of Gainsky district of Perm region declared that he had no doubts on NPP construction.

"The construction of NPP in Gainsky district (Perm region) will give an essential impulse to develop economics and social structures such as railway in the district.
