JSC MSZ passed quality audit carried out by finish companies Fortum and STUK

Representatives of Finish companies Fortum and STUK visited joint-stock company MCZ (Engineering plant, Electrostal, Moscow region) with the aim of inspection of manufacture of fuel pins to be delivered at Loviisa NPP in 2007.

Specialist from Finland visited fuel production lines and surveyed the stages of manufacturing fuel for VVER-440 reactor of Loviiza NPP including checkup of technological documentation.

In particular, they visited the production lines for manufacture fuel powder, fuel pellets, fuel pins and other components for fuel sub-assemblies.

Foreign partners showed a great interest in a new automatic line of fuel pin manufacture for VVER-440 reactor, in which pallet based feeding of fuel pellets is realized for fuel pin assembling . This line was designed and manufactured at MCZ using foreign components.

As a result of audit passed the document was issued. This document states that "no inadequacies of products to the requirements of contractual documentation have not been revealed during the inspection of technological documentation and manufacture process".

First concrete poured at unit 4 at Leningrad NPP-2
On March 20, 2025, the first concrete was poured for the foundation of the reactor building at Unit 4 of Leningrad NPP-2. The construction is part of the capacity replacement program at the plant, a subsidiary of Rosenergoatom, Rosatom Electric Power Division.
Representatives from the Belarusian NPP, El Dabaa NPP (Egypt), and Rooppur NPP (Bangladesh) participated in the first concrete ceremony via videoconference. These countries have power units with reference Russian VVER-1200 reactors that they have constructed or are constructing with the support of Rosatom.
