EuroSibEnergo public company (division of Oleg Deripaska's Base Element company) plans to enter the market of nuclear power plant services by take over of utility companies. In future EuroSibEnergo is going to construct NPP itself and to sell generated energy. Industrial experts believe that investments in this business are quite promising, although they doubt that competition with state companies is possible in this market.
EuroSibEnergo CEO (ad interim) Vladimir Kirukhin told Russian daily newspaper "Kommersant": "We want to establish a new sector in our company. This sector will cover all nuclear power from fuel cycle till sell of electricity. We chose atom because we understand that there will be a problems with deliveries of fuel to power plants in future".
He also added that EuroSibEnergo plans to begin with acquisition of a group of companies in the fields of construction, installation and service of nuclear power plants.
Rosatom welcome the initiative of EuroSibEnergo, but didn't altogether agree with everything "If we speak about construction and service part, here the market is forming, the more competition the better for customer", - the assistant of the head of Rosatom Sergey Novikov said.
"But in the sector of full fuel cycle the Russian legislation regulates rigidly the players and there is no EuroSibEnergo among them. Rosatom confirmed that there is no talks with EuroSibEnergo about NPP construction.
