JSC Atomstroyexport and JSC Stroytransgas formed a strategic alliance

To ensure firm positions in the Russian market and also with a view to participating in implementation of a State Program on the Development of nuclear field in Russia, JSC Atomstroyexport (ASE) and JSC Stroytransgas (STG) have formed a strategic alliance.

As a confirmation of the intentions on cooperation a number of documents were signed by the companies, the first of which was a Memorandum of Cooperation in the power industry. The Document was signed in Moscow on May 18, 2007 by Sergey Shmatko, ASE President and Victor Lorenz, STG President.

The Memorandum defines basic principles of cooperation aimed at unification of technical and human resources, knowledge and experience and provides for conducting a coordinated policy in consolidation of assets necessary for realization of assigned goals.

The new alliance will ensure synergetic effect and successful implementation of projects in energy sphere by considering prospects of Russian nuclear industry, scope of the tasks in the development of engineering and the need of creating an effective projects management system for NPP construction in Russia and abroad by deploying large experience and resources of each company.

To execute arrangements between JSC Atomstroyexport and JSC Stroytransgas, an Agreement on the establishment of a Consortium for participation in the construction of Russian NPPs was signed on May 21, 2007.

Joining the efforts of the two companies will facilitate the solution of state tasks in the development of Russian nuclear power industry and further increase of Russian share in the global NPP construction market.

JSC Atomstroyexport proceeds with its strategy directed at creating alliances prompting innovative solution application while managing NPP construction projects and increasing their implementation efficiency.

First concrete poured at unit 4 at Leningrad NPP-2
On March 20, 2025, the first concrete was poured for the foundation of the reactor building at Unit 4 of Leningrad NPP-2. The construction is part of the capacity replacement program at the plant, a subsidiary of Rosenergoatom, Rosatom Electric Power Division.
Representatives from the Belarusian NPP, El Dabaa NPP (Egypt), and Rooppur NPP (Bangladesh) participated in the first concrete ceremony via videoconference. These countries have power units with reference Russian VVER-1200 reactors that they have constructed or are constructing with the support of Rosatom.
