China and Japan held technical consultations in the Chinese city of Dalian on the issue of draining tritium-contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

As the Chinese Xinhua news agency clarified, the consultations took place on March 30, 2024.

The agency quotes Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbinas saying that Chinese and Japanese experts held a constructive technical dialogue, which is associated with several rounds of official consultations between the directors general of the Asian affairs departments of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of China and Japan.
