The reactor vessel was dismantled at the GE Vallecitos unit (USA), also known as Vallecitos Boiling Water Reactor (VBWR).

In the PRIS database, the GE Vallecitos unit is considered to be the first nuclear power unit launched in the USA. It was first connected to the grid in October 1957, the design capacity of the unit was 24 MWe.

The unit was finally shut down in 1963. After extracting the fuel, the unit was put into conservation mode in accordance with the SAFSTOR method, which provides for the decommissioning of the object after prolonged stay.
