On October 11, 2023, the Nuclear Regulatory Agency of Bulgaria received additional information regarding the application for permission to use RWFA fuel produced by Westinghouse at the fifth unit of the Kozloduy NPP.
This is reported by AtomInfo.Bg.
These documents are related to the amendments to Chapter 15 "Accident Analysis" of the Safety Analysis Report.
The substantive review and evaluation of the submitted documents is ongoing.
As the RealAtomInfo telegram-channel reported earlier, the reserves of Russian-made fuel at the fifth unit of the Kozloduy NPP are coming to an end.
Westinghouse is due to deliver the first batch of fuel in April 2024, but there are doubts that the deadlines will be met.
