448 nuclear units are operating in the world, 53 units are under construction

The current number of the operating nuclear power units in the world is equal to 448. These data are presented in the PRIS database supported by the IAEA.
Another 53 units have the status of the being built one.
Since the beginning of 2019, five units have been connected to the grid - "Shin-Kori-4" in South Korea, "Novovoronezh-2-2" and "Akademik Lomonosov-2" in Russia, "Taishan-2" and "Yangjiang-6" (both China).
The construction was started on three new units - "Kursk-2-2" in Russia, "Zhangzhou-1" in China and "Bushehr-2" in Iran.
Seven units were permanently shutdown - "Bilibino-1" in Russia, "Genkai-2" in Japan. "Pilgrim-1" and TMI-1 in the USA, "Chinshan-2" in Taiwan, "Ringhals-2" in Sweden and "Wolsong-1" in the South Korea.
