China wants to build Hualongs in the UK

China is interested in building in the UK the nuclear units with Hualong (Chinese dragon) reactors.
The corresponding statement was made by the senior vice president of the CGN corporation Zheng Dongshan, speaking in London at the Chinese-British nuclear forum.
"Our intention is to assist with the implementation of the project on construction of Hinkley Point C, then Sizewell C, and after this the Chinese team could lead the work on the construction and operation of units with Hualong reactors on Bradwell," said Zheng Dongshan.
The site of Bradwell was controlled by the French company EDF, however, it was put up for sale in 2009. Since then the French have repeatedly stated that the construction of new units at this site is not included in the plans of EDF.
In August 2014 the British press reported about the interest of Chinese companies to the construction in Bradwell new units. The specific type of reactor technology was not mentioned.
