Bid for new units in the Czech Republic will not be announced this year - minister

The bid for the construction of new units in the Czech Republic will not be announced this year.

This was stated by minister of industry and trade of the Czech Republic Jan Mladek in conversation with journalists on January 27.

The minister added that the final decision on the development of nuclear energy in the country will be made after the approval of the state energy strategy.

Earlier one said that the Czech Republic would like to build one or two new power units at the Temelin NPP and one unit on NPP Dukovany.

According to Prague, the interest in future tender have five members - Rosatom, Westinghouse, AREVA, as well as companies from China and South Korea.
