The fate of the Fukushima Daini still not determined

AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 25.11.2014

The TEPCO company has not yet decided on the fate of the Fukushima Daini nuclear power plant, located near the plant Fukushima Daiichi NPP in Japan.

All the units of Fukushima Daiichi NPP are finally shutdown. However there is no suech decision for Fukushima Daini. At the same time, there is no realistic start-up date for Fukushima Daini.

From the technical point of view, the state of Fukushima Daini does not inspire fear. But the Japanese authorities will not risk to support any proposal to return the station to duty.

Masao Uchibari, the newly elected governor of Fukushima Prefecture, is opposed to restart any of the four units of the Fukushima Daini. It is interesting to note that at the same time he refrains from denying nuclear power in general.
