Localization is not the main indicator of the expansion of the Paks - manager

AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 18.11.2014

The degree of localization will be a "secondary" indicator during the construction of new nuclear power units at Paks NPP in Hungary.

The main task - to build the units on time, within budget and to a high technical level.

This, writes "Vilaggazdasag", said the Hungarian government commissioner for NPP Paks extension project A.Asodi, speaking at a seminar in Budapest Technical University.

According to him, the Russian side "is ready to provide 40% of localization," but this is not the most important factor: "The main goal for the new power units have been built within budget and on time at a high technical level."

Justifying the need for the construction of new units, A.Asodi said: "It is risky to count (in the future) on cheap imports of electricity."

Currently, the share of imports in the Hungarian energy mix is 30%. Country purchases electricity, mainly in the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany.

Nuclear Veterans for the Future

Nuclear Veterans for the Future

Whom should we call veterans? It is a good question. At present, we are shifting the center of gravity to persons being prepared for retirement. They still have powder in the powder-horns, they worked under market conditions, and we are going to involve them in the veteran movement.

Drones over France

Drones over France
The French public is agitated. The unknown drones are flying over the French nuclear power stations. Although it does not represent the immediate threat to the NPP, the very fact of the flights and the anonymity of drone owners cause to suspect even the worst.
