ROSATOM offered cooperation to Slovak companies at NUSIM 2013 Conference Press Service of Rusatom Overseas JSC, PUBLISHED April 23, 2013 ROSATOM offered cooperation to the Slovak companies at NUSIM 2013 Conference in Casta – Papiernicka, April 17 – 18, 2013. On April 17 during the session on Continual modernization of NPPs D. Volekova, Director of Rusatom Overseas Slovak Branch held a presentation on long – term cooperation of Slovak, Czech and Russian specialists and offered ROSATOM products and services to the both Slovak and the Czech partners. She emphasized that specialists in nuclear energy from Slovakia and Russia have been cooperating for long time. Today in Slovakia there are operating 4 power units of Russian VVER design, for which Rosatom has supplied and continues to supply nuclear fuel. She added that Rosatom successfully cooperates with its Slovak colleagues in the completion of Mohovñe NPP and explores the possibility of joining the project for the construction of Bohunice NPP, Unit 5. “ROSATOM would like to continue in this long term cooperation and create conditions for new business relations. Today the Corporation is not only number 1 in the world in building nuclear power plants, constructing 28 power units, 19 of which abroad. ROSATOM is also implementing a number of innovative projects, for example in the field of small and medium-power reactors, mechanical engineering, nuclear medicine, traditional and alternative energy, which creates a great potential for joint cooperation with Slovak and Czech partners”, noted Denisa Volekova. She mentioned that ROSATOM on the global market now offers an integrated approach in the construction of nuclear power plants, oriented to the needs of a particular customer. Including both the construction of nuclear power plants with modern VVER reactor of 3+ generation, with a unique combination of active and passive safety systems and financial solutions, transfer of know-how and know-why, localization, as well as staff training. Beside the nuclear energy the companies incorporated into ROSATOM offer their products and services also to the traditional power plants operators. ”Our partners here in Slovakia have long-term experiences with companies like ZIO Podolsk or Chladici veze Praha.
