423 nuclear units are operating in the world, 56 units are under construction

The current number of the operating nuclear power units in the world is equal to 423. These data are presented in the PRIS database supported by the IAEA.

Another 56 units have the status of the being built one.

Since the beginning of 2023, three new units have been connected to the grid - Fangchenggang-3 (China), Mochovce-3 (Slovakia) and Vogtle-3 (USA).

The construction was started on one new unit - Sanmen-4 (China).

Two units were permanently shutdown - Tihange-2 (Belgium) and Kuosheng-2 (Taiwan, China).
