TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom Will Supply Nuclear Fuel Components for ETRR-2 Reactor in Egypt TVEL, PUBLISHED 18.04.2019 In the course of Atomexpo-2019 International Forum, TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom and the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority signed the contract for supply of uranium-made components of reduced-enrichment nuclear fuel for ETRR-2 research reactor in Egypt. The fuel components produced by Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (NCCP), a fabrication facility of TVEL Fuel Company, will be used for manufacturing nuclear fuel for the ETRR-2 reactor at the Nuclear Research Center in Inshas. Egypt second research reactor ETRR-2 is used for various researches in particle physics, materials engineering, and production of stable isotopes. "We consider supplies of nuclear fuel components a prominent market sector for TVEL's traditional business. Our enterprises are capable of manufacturing any kind of metallic and uranium-made fuel components for power and research reactors of both, Russian and non-Russian design, like ETRR-2". "TVEL Fuel Company invests in modernization of production facilities and development of nuclear fuel fabrication technologies. This enables us to master new products (like goods made of various metal alloys) and to offer our clients high-quality fuel components on favorablecommercial conditions", Oleg Grigoriyev, Senior Vice President for Commerce and International Business at TVEL JSC, commented. In 2017-2018, TVEL Fuel Company accomplished a number of contractual documents and supplied to Egypt a wide range of nuclear fuel components produced by NCCP for ETRR-2 reactor. The prospects for TVEL's business development in the Egyptian market also include supplies of nuclear fuel for the future 4800 MW El Dabaa NPP with four VVER-1200 reactors (the relevant contract entered into force in December, 2017). Besides, the Central Design and Technological Institute, another TVEL's subsidiary, is involved in construction of thestorage facility for spent nuclear fuel from El Dabaa NPP as a design subcontractor.
