NCCP held environmental protection and ecology meeting

The Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (NCCP) December 12 held a meeting “Results of Functioning of the Environmental Protection and Ecology Management System in 2007”. The meeting was initiated by the enterprise’s management and held in the conference-hall of the Sosnovy Bor Hotel. The meeting was attended by representatives of Kalinin District Administration of Novosibirsk, heads of regulatory authorities, ecological organizations, scientific institutes and journalists of local media.

The meeting participants were demonstrated an award diploma of the III All-Russia Contest “The Leader in Environmental Protection in Russia-2007”, which NCCP was given at the III All-Russia Conference “New Priorities of National Ecology Policy in the Sector of Real Economy”. Then, the specialists of the plant and other organizations informed on different aspects of the NCCP environmental protection and ecology activities.

In particular, A.V. Babushkin, the Deputy Technical Director for Supervision over Industrial Safety, Ecology and Emergencies, said about general principles of functioning of the environment management system certified in accordance with the international standard ISO and main results of environmental and ecological activities implemented in 2007. A.V. Strukov, the Head of Scientific and Experimental Shop, presented on advanced technology developments of NCCP which had reduced impacts of the enterprise to the environment. Chief Physicist of NCCP A.G. Ustyugov elaborated on the plant’s activities to rehabilitate land and clean-up territories. And Leading Geophysicist of the Siberian Branch of Berezovgeologiya Yu.P. Popov informed the attendees on results of contamination monitoring in Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk Region.

Summing up the meeting, its participants concluded that there were no significant adverse impact of the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant to the environment.
