412 nuclear units are operating in the world, 63 units are under construction AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 22.01.2026 The current number of the operating nuclear power units in the world is equal to 412. These data are presented in the PRIS database supported by the IAEA. Another 63 units have the status of the being built one. Since the beginning of 2025, two new units have been connected to the grid - Rajasthan-7 (India) and Zhangzhou-2 (China). The construction was started on three new units - Leningrad-2-4 (Russia), Taipingling-3 and Jinqimen-1 (both China). Seven units was permanently shutdown - Doel-1, Doel-2, Tihange-1 (all Belgium), Maanshan-2 (Taiwan, China) and Bilibino-2,3,4 (all Russia).
