ROSATOM Director General Alexey Likhachev takes part in the IAEA Symposium on AI Rosatom, PUBLISHED 04.12.2025 ROSATOM Director General Alexey Likhachev took part in the first International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Nuclear Energy organized by the IAEA on December 3-4th in Vienna. In his speech at the opening of the forum, Alexey Likhachev noted that in Russia, the development of AI is of paramount importance as a key factor of technological progress. He presented to participants of the event the experience of systematic and integrated application of AI technologies in the nuclear industry. This experience, best practices and achievements of ROSATOM in the field of AI were demonstrated at the Russian exhibition booth, organized on the sidelines of the symposium. Evgeny Abakumov, Director of Information and Digital Technologies at the State Corporation, speaking at the booth, emphasized that ROSATOM's experience covers the use of predictive analytics, machine vision, large language models and other AI tools to solve problems of high complexity. During his visit to Vienna, Alexey Likhachev held a meeting with the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. The parties discussed the main areas of bilateral cooperation between ROSATOM and the Agency. In particular, the issues of ensuring the safety and security of the Zaporozhskaya NPP and ROSATOM's participation in the thematic initiatives and programs of the IAEA were touched upon. The participants of the meeting confirmed their commitment to further developing cooperation.
