Approval for the first concrete for the Paks-2 NPP is expected by mid-November

Permission for the first concrete for the Paks-2 NPP from the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (OAN) is expected by mid-November 2025.

This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Vitaly Polyanin, Vice President of Atomstroyexport, director of the Paks-2 NPP construction project.

"As the general contractor, we expect the licensee, the customer's company, to notify us that it will receive the necessary permission from the Hungarian supervisory authority by mid-November," Polyanin said.

"If the permits are received by the promised deadline, the first concrete can be poured in early February 2026 in accordance with the technical regulations."
