IAEA inspectors returned to Iran

AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 27.08.2025

The first group of IAEA inspectors has returned to Iran and will soon take up their duties.

This was stated by the director general of the agency, Rafael Grossi, in an interview with Western media.

The inspectors left Iran in early July 2025, as after the Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, Tehran decided to lower the level of cooperation with the IAEA.

At the same time, Iran has not completely refused to cooperate with the agency. In particular, the presence of inspectors is required to comply with nonproliferation guarantees at the Bushehr NPP.
