First Components for Building Rosatom Wind Farm Delivered to Kyrgyzstan

Rosatom Renewable Energy, JSC (a company of Rosatom State Corporation) supplied the first wind turbine components (hubs, nacelles, generators and towers) to build a wind park in K?k-Moynok, Balykchy town, Ysyk-K?l region, Kyrgyz Republic. This was announced at the VII Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, which is taking place from August 13-15 in the Issyk-Kul region.

The wind farm installed capacity will be 100 MW. In the Kyrgyz Republic, the project is implemented by NovaWind Kyrgyzstan, LLC, a legal entity registered in the country and established specially for renewable energy construction projects in the region (belongs to Rosatom's Wind Energy Division). The beginning of design works with subsequent construction of the wind farm is scheduled for 2025-2026.

"The Kyrgyz Republic is among the countries with the greatest renewable energy potential. The wind power plant to be built will make it possible to utilize wind energy for the benefit of our people. Rosatom's project is moving forward to the implementation stage and we provide full support to our partners," emphasized Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"The project to build our first wind farm abroad is progressing to a new stage. Component delivery is an important step on this way. We stick to the schedule set within the framework of the concluded investment agreement and expect to pour the first concrete foundation for the wind power plant already next year. The project team has all the necessary competencies for building and operating wind farms. The total capacity of wind energy projects completed by Rosatom in Russia is over 1 GW and we are ready to utilize our accumulated experience in the countries friendly to us," noted Grigory Nazarov, General Director of Rosatom Renewable Energy, JSC.
