WANO technical support mission aimed at strengthening operational readiness of Unit 1 took place at Akkuyu NPP Akkuyu Nuclear, PUBLISHED 23.07.2025 The Operational Readiness Assessment (ORA) support mission, organized by the Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO MC), was conducted at Akkuyu NPP site (being constructed by the Rosatom State Corporation). Experts from the Leningrad NPP-2, Kursk, Novovoronezh and Belarusian NPPs took part in the mission. The ORA mission is aimed at providing an independent expert assessment of the plant's readiness for the operation phase. WANO team spent a week analyzing 12 key areas of Akkuyu Nuclear's activities, including operation, maintenance, engineering support, radiation and fire protection, personnel training and qualification, as well as emergency preparedness. Preliminary conclusions and recommendations were presented at the final meeting of the Akkuyu NPP project team mission. The final report will be sent to Akkuyu Nuclear within a month.
