Rossing Uranium releases its 2024 Sustainability & Performance Report in Namibia CNNC, PUBLISHED 15.06.2025 On June 4 (local time), China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Rossing Uranium held its 2024 Sustainability & Performance Report launch event in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, highlighting the commitment of Chinese enterprises to their social responsibility in Africa. At the event, participants were impressed by Rossing Uranium's efforts to promote China-Africa cooperation toward high-quality and sustainable development through transparent disclosure mechanisms and pragmatic actions, setting a new benchmark for Chinese enterprises in fulfilling their social responsibility in Africa. The event was attended by over one hundred guests, including Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping, Namibia's Deputy Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, as well as representatives from leading Namibian enterprises and various sectors. Since acquiring the Rossing Uranium Mine in 2019, CNNC has adhered to the principle of joint consultation, collaborative contribution and shared benefits, actively supporting Namibia's development initiatives. Based on the 46-year public welfare network of the Rossing Foundation, CNNC has been dedicated to advancing Namibia's economic growth, job creation, educational support and other social welfare programs. Its projects cover the entire country, making a meaningful impact on the well-being of Namibian communities. Rossing Uranium drives its strategy with a dual focus on resource development and social responsibility. While innovating to transform and upgrade the aging mine, it has invested in improving the livelihood of the local people through platforms such as the Rossing Foundation, building a "mining and community coexistence" model and deeply integrating into the development of Namibia. With a localized procurement system, cross-cultural integration mechanisms and sustainable development model, it embodies the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and injects lasting momentum into the local economy.
