415 nuclear units are operating in the world, 61 units are under construction

The current number of the operating nuclear power units in the world is equal to 415. These data are presented in the PRIS database supported by the IAEA.

Another 61 units have the status of the being built one.

Since the beginning of 2024, four new units have been connected to the grid - Kakrapar-4 (India), Vogtle-4 (USA), Barakah-4 (UAE) and Fangchenggang-4 (China).

The construction was started on six new units - ElDabaa-4 (Egypt), Zhangzhou-3, Lianjiang-2, Xudapu-2 and Ningde-5 (all China) and Leningrad-2-3 (Russia).

Two units were permanently shutdown - Kursk-2 (Russia) and Maanshan-1 (Taiwan, China).
