Largest containment test platform completes performance test CNNC, PUBLISHED 01.07.2023 The China Nuclear Power Engineering (CNPE) of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) successfully completed a structural performance test of its containment vessels in serious incidents, together with the Harbin Institute of Technology, on June 20. The Xuanwu experimental platform, the world's largest containment test model, also innovatively accomplished the world's first high-temperature and high-pressure coupling test, providing scientific reference as well as technological support for the assessment of the structural performance of containment vessels in serious incidents. Researchers have spent three years making preparations for the test, which takes the inner containment vessels of homegrown Hualong One nuclear power units as a prototype. Making several technological breakthroughs, the test provides support for the research and development of next-generation nuclear power technology following Hualong One and the safe operation of in-service nuclear power plants. ROSATOM plans to construct SHELF-M reactor plant in Chukotka The land-based small nuclear power plant with the SHELF-M reactor is planned to be commercially operational by 2030. Main Construction Phase for Unit 3 of El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Commences in Egypt A technical ceremony for the pouring of the first concrete took place. |
Hero of the day Unit 2 of the Belarusian NPP included the unified energy system of the Republic of Belarus The grid connection at the reactor power of 40% of the nominal one confirms the availability of all its systems and equipment for electricity generation. In the coming days, specialists will increase the reactor power up to 50% and carry out a series of dynamic tests. INTERVIEW
