The discussion focused on issues related to nuclear safety and nuclear security of the Zaporozhskaya NPP. Alexey Likhachev informed the IAEA Director General about the steps being taken by the Russian side in this area, as well as about the measures aimed at ensuring comfortable social and living conditions for ZNPP workers and their families. In turn, Rafael Grossi spoke about the progress of his initiative to establish a Nuclear Safety and Security Protection Zone at the Zaporozhskaya NPP. In this regard, Alexey Likhachev expressed the readiness of the Russian side to continue work on this initiative of the IAEA Director General. Other members of the Russian delegation also took part in the discussion. In addition, the discussion covered issues on current and future cooperation between Russia and the IAEA in other areas.
