Unit No. 1 of the Shin-Hanul NPP has been put into commercial operation

Unit No. 1 of the Shin-Hanul NPP in South Korea has been put into commercial operation.

The unit has an APR-1400 reactor with a thermal capacity of 3983 MWt. The electrical capacity of the unit is 1400 MWe gross and 1340 MWe net.

The construction of the unit started in July 2012. The first criticality date was May 22, 2022, the first connection to the grid was on June 9, 2022.

The plant received its name in 2013, before that the plant was called the Shin Ulchin NPP.
