AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 29.01.2022

The Spanish Empresarios Agrupados (EAI), which has extensive experience in the nuclear industry, has been selected as the architect engineer for a floating NPP with molten-salt reactors TMSR-500, which can be built for Indonesia.

As an architect-engineer, EAI will be involved in areas such as project management, documentation control, compliance of codes, site preparation and licensing.

In addition, EAI will provide ThorCon with engineering services for all phases of the project, from design and construction to decommissioning.

The TMSR-500 project is a two-module floating power plant with molten salt reactors. The electric power of the unit is 500 MWe.

OPINION

Victor Murogov
This critical analysis of the history, state, and prospects of development of modern nuclear technologies shows that nuclear energy market has practically monopolized the design and construction of only one type of reactors (95% of NPPs under construction use pressurized water reactors), which necessitates training of focused specialists involved in the construction and operation of those nuclear power plants.
