443 nuclear units are operating in the world, 51 units are under construction

The current number of the operating nuclear power units in the world is equal to 443. These data are presented in the PRIS database supported by the IAEA.
Another 51 units have the status of the being built one.
Since the beginning of 2021, three units have been connected to the grid - "Kakrapar-3" (India), KANUPP-2 (Pakistan) and "Tianwan-6" (China).
The construction was started on two new units - "Akkuyu-3" (Turkey) and "Changjiang-3" (China).
Two units were permanently shutdown - "Indian Point-3" (USA) and "Kuosheng-1" (Taiwan).
A ceremony commemorating the start of Unit 3 construction was held at the site of the first Turkish nuclear power plant Akkuyu.
The dummy fuel bundles for CFR-600 are already manufactured for testing.
SFP-3 and SFP-4 are free of fuel now.

On March 22, 2021, VVER-1200 reactor-enabled Unit 6 was commissioned at the Leningrad NPP. Andrey Petrov, Director General of Rosenergoatom (part of the Electric Power Division of ROSATOM), signed the corresponding order.
