CNNC is developing the miniaturized lead-bismuth fast reactors

The Chinese CNNC corporation is developing the miniaturized lead-bismuth fast reactors.

The current state and prospects of the lead-bismuth reactors were discussed on the public channel of the WeChat network dedicated to science and technology.

The invited Chinese experts said that CNNC plans to build a low-power research reactor with a lead-bismuth coolant during the XIV five-year plan (2020-2025).

On October 9, 2019, the Chinese zero-power Qimingxing III critical assembly has reached the critical state for the first time.
