454 nuclear units are operating in the world

The current number of the operating nuclear power units in the world is equal to 454. These data are presented in the PRIS database supported by the IAEA.

Another 54 units have the status of the being built one.

Since the beginning of 2018, nine new units were connected to the grid, seven of them in China - "Sanmen-1", "Taishan-1", "Yangjiang-5", "Haiyang-1", "Sanmen-2", "Haiyang-2" and "Tianwan-4".

Two new units were connected to the grid in Russia - "Leningrad-2-1" and "Rostov-4".

One unit was permanently shutdown in the USA - "Oyster Creek-1". Two units were permanently shutdown in Taiwan (China).

The construction was started on four new units - "Akkuyu-1", "Kursk-2-1", "Rooppur-2" and "Shin-Kori-6".

When I look at the past, I've always thought that cooperation was extremely important.My feeling is that we did a lot of good; there were a lot of benefits to both countries. It's often not appreciated that it was actually beneficial to both countries. Itis unfortunate that it came pretty much to an end between U.S. and Russia.
