ROSATOM presented perspective projects at ENKO 2013 Conference Press Service of Rusatom Overseas JSC, PUBLISHED April 27, 2013 On April 24, 2013 at ENKO 2013 Conference in Bratislava vice-president of JSC Rusatom Overseas (ROSATOM’s subsidiary, responsible for international business development) Ivo Kouklik presented on ROSATOM investment projects, perspective in Europe and in the world and on ROSATOM’s approaches to international cooperation and the development of nuclear infrastructure. “ROSATOM offers to its customers an integrated approach that includes a full range of solutions – not only the construction of NPP with the most modern technology and safety systems, but also the involvement of local industrial companies in a project, solution on financing and the transfer of experience and knowledge, personnel training, as well as legal support and creation of the necessary nuclear infrastructure”, mentioned Ivo Kouklik. Company approach includes not only the company’s long-term experience and IAEA recommendations. ROSATOM's Generation 3+ NPP Design includes high level of internal safety gained through evolution of design. The VVER designers had developed well before the Fukushima Daiichi accident the NPP safety features that were suggested as result of the European wide NPP stress in spring 2012. Similar suggestions were supported as future NPP design principles by experts who participated to the Extraordinary meeting on Fukushima Daiichi accident at IAEA. ROSATOM is currently the world leading company in the construction of new nuclear units. Today the Corporation is implementing projects to construct 28 power units, 19 of which abroad. Company utilizes the advantages of continuing development and construction of nuclear installations without interruption for decades, very broad research and engineering base and strong financial position. “We would like to continue the long term cooperation with the Slovak partners not only in the nuclear sector. ROSATOM is also implementing a number of innovative projects, for example in the field of small and medium-power reactors, mechanical engineering, nuclear medicine, traditional and alternative energy, which creates a great potential for joint cooperation”, concluded Mr. Kouklik.
