Photo exhibition “The Russian Nuclear Power” started in Bangladesh Press Service of ANO Nuclear Industry Information Center, PUBLISHED April 05, 2013 On the 31st of March in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Dhaka (Bangladesh) the photo exhibition “The Russian Nuclear Power” was started. The exhibition is dedicated to achievements of the Russian nuclear industry abroad and prospects of development of a NPP in Ruppur. The exhibition was opened in the framework of events devoted to the Independence Day of Bangladesh and the role of Russia and India in the struggle for the country’s independence. At the exhibition opening ceremony the special guests included Acting Speaker of the Bangladeshi Parliament Shovkat Ali, Vice Speaker of the Parliament Saeda Chaudhri, Ambassador of India to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran. Minister of Information of Bangladesh Hasanul Haque Inu pointed out that he was interested in getting such information about the exhibition and its circulation in mass media. For information: The intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Bangladesh provides for construction of two 1000-megawatt nuclear power units of Ruppur NPP 200 km from Dhaka. The work on the site is planned to start in January 2014. On the 15th of January, 2013, during an official visit of Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, the agreement on establishment of the Atomic Energy Information Center in Dhakka in 2013 was signed ÿíâàðÿ 2013.
