Pakistan Test Launches Ballistic Missile RIA Novosti, PUBLISHED April 26, 2012 Pakistan successfully test-fired on Wednesday an intermediate-range ballistic missile able to carry a nuclear warhead, Pakistan's DawnNews reported. The Hatf-IV (Shaheen-1A) missile hit a target in the Indian Ocean. The weapon is an improved version of the the Shaheen 1, Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department said. The missile "will further consolidate and strengthen Pakistan's deterrence abilities," said Gen Khalid Kidwai, the head of the Pakistan army's Strategic Plans Division.
