First Announcement of International Conference Dedicated to 50th Anniversary of BFS Critical Facility

DEAR COLLEAGUES,

The Program and Organizing Committees are pleased to invite you and your colleagues to participate in the International Conference dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the BFS critical facility to be held in Obninsk and Moscow from 28.02 to 2.03.2012. The Conference is hosted by the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation - Institute for Physics and Power Engineering named after A. I. Leypunsky.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE

To bring together nuclear and reactor physics specialists from around the globe to exchange scientific and technical information and to discuss the latest developments in this area. Particular attention in the discussion will focus on issues related to methods and techniques of measurement on critical facilities, estimations and evaluations of reactor experiments, improvements to nuclear data and criticality codes and development of the experimental databases.

CONFERENCE TOPICS

1. Experimental Research Programmes on Fast Neutron Reactors and Fuel Cycle Safety

- new evaluations of existing experiments;

- future experimental programmes.

2. Criticality Codes Nuclear Data and Uncertainty Analysis.

3. Role of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) in the development of experimental critical facility.

REQUIREMENTS TO THE PAPERS

Papers in Russian or English are submitted to the Organizing Committee in the day of Conference opening in the form prepared for direct reproduction (А4, up to 8 pages, text page length - 24.5 cm, width - 16 cm, no page numbering). Title of the paper, names of authors and their affiliations are indicated in English at the top of the first page of the paper in the field of 4 - 6 cm height.

Papers are printed broadside on white paper by laser printer. The font is 11 points. Hard copy of the paper should be accompanied by its electronic copy and covering documents.

The deadline of submitting applications for participation in the Conference is 31 December 2011.

VENUE

Conference will be held in Obninsk, Kaluga region, 100 km from Moscow (28 Feb. - 1 March) and in Moscow (2 March).

Registration fee: 3000 roubles (100 $). The amount of the registration fee includes the cost of printing the Conference program, abstracts of papers, coffee breaks, a friendly late dinner, as well as the technical servicing of the Conference.

Working language: English and Russian languages.
