In Beijing in the course of the visit to PRC of the Prime –Minister of the Russian Federation Mr.Vladimir Putin there was signed a contract on carrying out of preproject works on construction in China of two units of the nuclear power plant with fast neutron reactor plants (BN-800). The contract was concluded between “Atomstroyexport” JSC (ASE JSC) and China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) jointly with China Nuclear Energy Industry Company (CNEIC).

The contract stipulates the development by the Russian side and submission to the Chinese customer of the documentation for preproject research and substantiation of the project of construction in China of the NPP with fast neutron reactors 800 MWe capacity each. According to this project it is planned to start the construction of the NPP first unit in August 2011.
