JSC Atomstroyexport and Saint - Petersburg Atomenergoproject merge

JSC "Atomstroyexport" (JSC ASE), a Russian operator for NPP construction abroad, and Saint-Petersburg Scientific Research and Design Institute "Atomenergoproject" (SPbAEP), one of three Institutes taking up NPP design, will merge on a managing company base.

The goal of merging is to obtain and make use of new opportunities for expansion of NPP construction activity.

Mr. Leonid Mikhailovich Reznikov who had held a position of SPbAEP Director so far was appointed President of JSC "Atomstroyexport" by JSC ASE Board of Directors. Mr. Dan Belenkiy has been appointed Executive Director of JSC "Atomstroyexport".

Offering its services for nuclear power facility construction at the external market and being in a developing competitive environment, JSC "Atomstroyexport" is constantly improving work efficiency. Merging with the Saint-Petersburg Institute that developed a design of Tianwan NPP in China, JSC "Atomstroyexport" strengthens significantly its engineering positions at the nuclear power market.

Strengthening of the engineering part will make it possible for "Atomstroyexport" to enlarge competences and to solve an important strategic task aimed at increase of competitiveness of projects for NPP construction in Russia and abroad.

Curriculum Vitae

Mr. Reznikov Leonid Mikhailovich was born on March 31, 1958 in the town of Lvov. In 1979 he graduated from the faculty of law of Military Institute of USSR Ministry of Defense, did actual military service in military justice bodies, a colonel of the reserve.

In 1998 Mr. L.M. Reznikov studied in the Higher Education Institution of Privatization of the RF State Property Committee. He upheld a Ph.D. thesis majoring in "Economics" in Saint-Petersburg Economics and Finance University in 2000. In 2004 Mr. L.M. Reznikov accomplished studies in National Economy Academy under jurisdiction of RF Government as an oil and gas manager by training.

From 2001 - Vice - President of JSC "Vostokgazprom".

From 2003 - General Director of "Tomskneftekhim" Ltd.

From April 2006 - Vice - President of "Sibneft" (from June 2006 - "Gazpromneft").

From September 2007 - Director of FSUE SPbAEP

Since July 2008 - President of JSC "Atomstroyexport".

JSC "Atomstroyexport" (JSC ASE) is a leading Russian company that implements contracts for construction of nuclear power facilities abroad. Today JSC ASE fulfils orders constituting more than 20% of the world market volume, and it is the only company implementing contracts for construction of NPPs with water-cooled water-moderated power reactors in four countries simultaneously. Kudankulam NPP (two power units) is under construction in India, Bushehr NPP (one power unit) is being constructed in Iran. Construction of Belene NPP (two power units) started in Bulgaria. A guarantee period of operation after handover of two Tianwan NPP power units continues in China.

Saint-Petersburg Scientific Research and Design Institute "Atomenergoproject" (SPbAEP) is a leading Russian design organization for 80-year history of which more than 100 power plant designs (State District Power Plants, Thermal Power Plants, Nuclear Power Plants and Gas-Turbine Thermal Power Plants) were developed and implemented in Russia and abroad. Kola NPP and Beloyar NPP in Russia, Bohunice NPP and Mohovce NPP in Slovakia, Dukovany NPP and Temelin NPP in Czechia and Loviisa NPP in Finland were commissioned as per the Institute designs. Two power units of Loviisa NPP are among the best ten NPPs in the world judging by performances of safe and reliable operation.

Tianwan NPP in China was handed over in operation in 2007. During Tianwan NPP construction JSC "Atomstroyexport" acted as a general contractor and SPbAEP - as a general designer.
