New appointments in Atomenergoprom and Rosenergoatom

One year and a half have passed since Sergey Obozov came in Rosenergoatom and chaired it in March 2006. His first decision as director general was to have only one deputy instead of four - Alexander Lokshin ex-director of Smolensk NPP.

The main results of Rosenergoatom's activity since Obozov was appointed to general director are the followings:

- Coefficient of total capacity use (KIUM) of Rosenergoatom NPPs amounted to 78,2% in the first half of 2007 in comparison with 73,4 and 76% in 2005 and 2006, correspondingly;

- Last year all 10 NPPs generated 154,65 billion KWh that is the best output during the existence of Rosenergoatom;

- In the first half of the year all NPPs generated 78,9 billion kWh that amounts to 102,2% of the level of 2006.

It is the first time in twenty years a new NPP has been started to construct- Novovoronezh NPP. In autumn the construction of Leningrad NPP-2 will be start up. Thus Rosenergoatom will carry out construction work at 5 sites by the end of the year that will allow the construction of 10 units in 2 years. BN-800 fast reactor- the basis for future nuclear power and the first in the world float power plant have been started constructing.

As deputy director of Atomenergoprom Obozov will solve the problems connected with machinery engineering, planning of capital investments in medium terms and implementation of such advanced projects as floatable nuclear power plants and oth.
