Atomenergomash contradicted the statement of Nucon-RF about foundation of joint venture for manufacturing equipment for NPP

On Wednesday (11.07.07) Atomenergomash declared that "it has no any relations and contacts including foundation of joint venture (JV) with American company Nucon-RF".

Remind that on Tuesday Nucon-RF announced about foundation of joint venture with Atomenergomash for manufacturing reactors. Its statement informed that foundation of joint venture had been completed and it would be located at site of Izhore plants. Annually JV will supply construction at least 2 reactors with power 1000 MW each.

However Atomenergomash has no information of Nucon-RF activity.

"This company never constructed reactors in Russia, as well as never supplied equipment for NPP", - the statement of Atomenergomash wrote.

According to data on Nucon website, this company plans to allocate its shares on the curb market of USA in this quarter and the corresponding document has already committed to American Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Federal atomic energy agency of the RF (Rosatom) supposes that the statement about foundation of JV is due to wish of Nucon to attract the attention of the investors before market penetration.

Rosatom representative told Interfax: "The fact that American company declared about foundation of JV with Russian partner in nuclear sphere with the aim of increasing its investment attraction, is positive. It shows that the projects in the peaceful nuclear power became in financial world as indicators of business reliability as a whole.

"However, in this particular case Atomenergomash was absolutely right to contradict this news, since it will be wrong from its side to take part in forming false expectations", - he added.

Nucon has 25% shares in Russian ZAO Atoll. Atoll is Electro Machinery Building Plant established for production electric equipment for VVER-type reactors. Atomenergomash is the main shareholder of this plant.

Nucon-RF overestimated its share in Atoll. It reports that it has 50% share instead of real 13% in accordance with Rosatom.
