IAEA experts visited Kursk NPP within cooperation program

From July 8 till July 13 Rosenergoatom-IAEA meeting was held at Kursk NPP within long-term cooperation program between Rosenergoatom and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The subject of meeting was a development of agreed plan of work between Kursk NPP and working group of IAEA off-budget project for implementation of Integrated Training and Accident Analysis System (ITAAS) at units 1, 2 and 3 of Kursk NPP.

IAEA working group was represented by M. Jankovski (USA), J. Fisher (USA) and J. Malesa (Poland). Kursk NPP chief engineer Alexander Uvakin headed the Kursk NPP delegation.

IAEA representatives held ITAAS course for middle specialists of Kursk NPP.

As a result of the meeting the technical requirements were prepared for some tasks of ITAAS implementation and improvement of the models of modernized safety systems of Kursk NPP and modification of input data file of calculation code RÅLAP5-3D. This code is a basis of integrated training system developed within off-budget ISTC project.

The parties discussed the issues of organization of cooperation aimed at improving efficiency of IRAAS use for training of Kursk NPP operating personal.

The parties expressed their satisfaction of the results of the meeting.
