Beloyarsk NPP resumed its operation at full power

On July 11, 2007, Beloyarsk NPP resumed its operation at full power after restoration of generator.

According to Beloyarsk NPP press-secretary Marianna Bokanova, one of three generators was shut down after lightning stroke on July 9, 2007 at 22:00 local time. It resulted to decrease of reactor power down to 400MW.

"Equipment was checked. Actually it wasn't damaged. There are no violation of requirements and rules of safe operation of Beloyarsk NPP. Radiation background at Beloyarsk NPP and surrounding territories is at the level corresponding normal operation of unit and doesn't exceed natural background" - Bokanova said.

On 4 March, an intergovernmental agreement on principles of cooperation in the construction of a SMR (small modular reactor) in Myanmar was signed during the state visit of Myanmar leadership to Russia.
The document was signed in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, by Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom State Corporation Director General, and Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
